Problem and Solution: Use Permalink Migration Plugin

In case you have used the ugly permalink for so long (have been indexed by google) and fearful that when you renew the parmalink you'll lost your "mojo" (meaning, google juice), fear not. The problem has been resolved by Permalink Migration Plugin:

But doing so [i.e. changing permalinks) will make all pages indexed by search engines become invalid, moreover, losing visitors from other sites or bookmarks that links to you.

There is a way to tell the search engines (and browsers) that the page has permenantly moved, and that the old address should be replaced by the new one . It’s called a “301 Redirect”, also known as a Permanent Redirect. When you do this, Search engines will update their indexes quickly and you won’t lose your will continue to receive traffic as though nothing had changed. This works for search engines, bookmarks, and links from other sites.

By now, you know how can you change your permalinks without losing the traffic you’re already getting. You can download this Permalink Migration Plugin to achieve this for you.

Download the permalink migration plugin for free here. Follow the installation tutorial here. Affiliate Program is Scam Affiliate Program is a Scam meaning it makes a false promise and will never pay you even after your revenue reaches U$D 100 (20 referral) as promised. See many testimonials in the comment box from Affiliate member here and here. Here's some quotes:

Carl J.

Their affiliate program is a scam. I've read a lot of posts from people who have been waiting 2-3 months for payments.

I've met the minimum $100 payout, and am still waiting for my payment. I've opened 2 tickets, one was closed without a reply, and the second is still open.

From Guru: is a scam!

Had 305 dollars worth of signups. Guess what. Account suspended. They suspend accounts without reason, they don't respond to support questions and certainly don't respond to questions concerning postponed payments.

If you ask a question about their payment postponement (3 months in a row my payments were postponed by 000webhost!!!) and they don't like your question, your account gets suspended.

How convenient, that they don't have to pay you then.

For 3 months I was eligible for payments. Each month they had some reason why this months payments were postponed to the next month.

Never got paid, never got answers. Their hosting is free, yes. But their 5 dollar affiliate program is a SCAM!

Please don't use this!

The affiliate program for CO.CC, however, is real. I've withdrawn funds from CO.CC several times.

Well, you know what I've also put the 000webhost affiliate banner in this blog. I should put them away ASAP. So should you if you follow this program.

Celebrate Indonesia Blogger Day on October 27

Last year, Menkominfo (Minister of Information and Communication) Mr. Mohammad Nuh has decided that 27 October will be celebrated as Indonesia blogger day. The day is tomorrow. And I think every blogger Indonesia should celebrate it in one's own way; at least by writing something about blogging activities or indeed about anything one likes to write.

Blog Posts about Hari Blogger Nasional Indonesia: one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen foruteen and a lot more and more.

Sideblog Wordpress Plugin

Everytime I browse through the internet world, I found many fascinating stuffs which links I hate to miss. Hence I save them mostly in As time goes by, I feel having saved many links in a third party service--instead of in your primary blog--is a bit ineffective and a waste of time. Come to think of it, I need a plugin to enable me to save links I found on the internet in the form of a blog post but doesn't appear in the main page blog posts, the links should come up only in the sidebar.

After googling, I found a nice plugin called Sideblog. And since two days ago, you've seen SIDENOTES in the right sidebar which is a sort of miniblog (also called Asides, Sideblog, Sidenotes) which perform like an online bookmark such as etc. Only it's a lot better as it's integrated well within your own blog.

How to install

First, download the plugin from here and unzip it.

Second, if you've activated your sidebar widget, follow this instruction:

Upload sideblog.php to the /wp-content/plugins directory
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
Create your asides category (usually, 'asides') if you haven't created on yet
Go to 'Setting' menu then to 'Sideblog' submenu
From the list of categories, select the one you just created above and choose the number of entries to display
Click on 'Update Sideblog Options' button
Go to 'Design' menu, then to 'Widget' or just 'Widgets' for WP 2.2 and greater.
Drag and drop the Sideblog widget ('Sideblog 1) to your sidebar container.
Click on the icon and give it a title and select a category.
Save your changes.
Create a post and put it in your asides category

If you happen to like non-widget sidebar (anyone?), follow these steps, skip it if you use widget:

Upload sideblog.php to the /wp-content/plugins directory
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
Create your asides category (usually, 'asides') if you haven't created on yet
Open your themes' sidebar.php file if you have one and add
Create a post and put it in your asides category

How to Setting

There are several options on how you want this Sideblog to appear. I prefer only the title url link which will appear in the sidebar. So this is what I'd do:

1. Once the installation is done, I go to Setting -> Sideblog
2. On the "Display Format" menu, I put this code:

  • %title_url%

  • 3. Click "Update Sideblog Options" (See picture 1 below)

Picture 1: Only URL Title shows in Sideblog, the content will show after you click the title link.

So, now when I am not in the mood to write a long post or article, I write in the Sidenotes or Sideblog with a link or two to other blogs or websites. Likewise, whenever I found a nice link which I don't have time to read now yet it's too important to miss or just to share the link with readers, I save it in the Sidenotes. There are times when I write a long article (more than three paragraph) but I just don't want it to appear in the frontpage for a reason or two, so I use this method.

You may also comment in the sidenote as well, since the comment box is open.
